I helped develop the initial motion language and depth story accross a number of sprints. I also created some of the first iterations of how apps would transition and move following material principles. I was then given the opportunity to lead the UX, Visual, and Motion Design for the Google Dialer app. I was tasked with creating a fresh new look for the Dialer app with an all new visual feel, refined interactions and thoughtful transitions. Additionally, we collaborated to produce a prototype for Google I/O and the final shipping product for the Android L release. This video is a highlight reel of various aspects of the Google Dialer app experience I put together to showcase the work.&nbsp;Special thanks to the Material Team at Google. The complex nature of the material required us to reduce the concepts down to the abstracted shape level while still staying as accurate as possible to the essence of the concepts. The hand drawn design direction gave a friendly and inviting feel to the technical domain. I collaborated with PM's and engineers to make sure the concepts held up even if they were abstracted. In the end we crafted a spot that highlights the privacy preserving benefits of Federated Learning while keeping the complex subject matter approachable. Working with a fellow turntablist developer we wanted to create an app experience that allowed users to to easily upload their own loops or play loops from other people.&nbsp;We&nbsp; created a few key features&nbsp; The first was to allow the beat to be sped up while keeping it’s pitch so you could practice or play at any speed The second was to allow an automatic incremental climb of BPM so that you can start a beat slow, and the app would automatically increase the songs speed.
